Subject: irrigation timer
Well, our timer from 2007 died. Just up and died. After fiddling with it a bit, I think it's the transformer (the timer operates on 24VDC). Not really a good way to replace that. So I bought a new one. Same model. Didn't get the bells and whistles (e.g. wifi). Programs the same, and I already know how to program it. If the last one is any indication, I may be in an old folks home by the time this quits.

It does have a second battery, though. It was a 9V and a 2032. Weird. Also, it doesn't have PCM modules. The old one did. This just has 12 connections, plus 2 (for common, and another thing I forget what it does). Swap-out was pretty easy, timer is working.
