Subject: Speaking of Doge
In all of this recent nonsense, I haven't seen commentary on what a 'Doge' actually was.
It's kinda significant, and hiding in plain sight: "Doge of Venice acted as both the head of state and head of the Venetian oligarchy. Doges were elected for life"
It was a thousand-year, uh, ruling arrangement: "Doge derives from the Latin Dux, meaning "leader," and Venetian Italian for “duke”, highest official of the republic of Venice for over 1,000 years"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...
To repeat: "Head of state and the head of the oligarchy."
Let's see...in 2025, that would have to be, let's see... I guess a tech bro in the White House
Those who do not read their Wikipedia are destined to repeat it.
That is all
