Subject: Bar Owner Treated Unfairly
The owner of the Pearl Bar in Houston was on the local news tonight.

Pearl bar = "Pearl Bar remains a beloved and essential space for Houston's LGBTQ+ community, providing a place for people to come together, celebrate, and be themselves."

The owner was interviewed by Local news where she states her insurance underwriter has declined to renew her insurance coverage which must re-applied for every year.

The owner said the stated the reason was the insurance company did not want to accept the liability associated with the bar hosting drag shows.

The owner said they do host such shows but you have to be 21 to enter the bar and they don't allow children inside to watch the drag shows. She blames the current political environment where they are looked at as not good people and represent too much risk.

She seems like a sensible business woman responsibly running a legal business providing jobs and entertainment supporting the local economy. She said she pays $60K a year for insurance and over $300K to the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission for licensing plus local and state sales taxes.

I agree with her, the insurance company is out of line and I hope she finds some justice.
