Subject: Antisemitism
I had book club (coming up on 20 years this October) last night. We read the book James which is about the Huckleberry Finn story told from the perspective of Jim, a slave.

After discussing the book, we went on to other topics, including (of course) current events. One of the discussions centered on the current administration using antisemitism as an excuse to arrest and deport people illegally as well as justification for withholding billions of dollars in research that helped to make this country the crown jewel of this planet (and is currently being systematically dismantled by Trump and the Republican Party).

I made the comment that I thought the current administration blaming antisemitism for their illegal and unconstitutional behavior was actually a form of antisemitism. In other words, blaming Jews for the current administration’s own illegal and unconstitutional behavior.

Several members agreed, there was no pushback.
