Brookfield has changed a lot since I bought my first shares almost twenty years ago. The complexity, the number of pies in which they have a tentacle, the number of strategies, the sheer amount of other people's money. Private credit, wealth management, now the insurance business. Not content to sell the new strategies to pension funds, sovereign funds, high net worth individuals, they aim to sell alternatives directly to retail investors.
