Subject: DC case moving again
Judge Chutkan got the case back on Friday and went right to work. She's ordered a status conference for August 16, and ordered the parties to meet before then to agree on a timeline - or report on what they could not agree on. She also denied an old motion to Dismiss by Trump.
It's clear that the trial is not going to happen any time soon. But based on the USSC immunity ruling, it looks (to this non-lawyer) like there will need to be some evidentiary hearings so Judge Chutkan can make some rulings on what may or may not be immune. While the Judge's intent is almost certainly to get the case moving again, these hearings could also serve to get some evidence on the record before the election. And that itself could turn out to be pretty interesting.
