Subject: Re: The 180-day rule
For DW and me, this works fine. So, I don't think we'll pursue obtaining a "passive income" visa for France or Italy unless a certain former President should happen to get elected this fall. :-)
FWIW the immigration attorney I'm working with in Portugal is expecting an enormous increase in visa applications as the election approaches, and their immigration system is already backed up. No way of knowing how bad it might get but it's plausible that expatriation, asset extraction, and long-term visas could all become far more difficult if not impossible, in a relatively short time. Then again the US as a whole might be no worse than, say, Mississippi or Alabama is today.
