Is that the error where the update fails to index, calculate the custom fields and the start SI-Pro app proper? That is the new updater performs the download, does some stuff, the green bar completes & then the updater closes with process stopped from that point. That's the issue I often have.

If so you can just run the 'Stock Investor Pro Utilities' app manually, reindex all files & then calculate all custom fields. On starting the 'Stock Investor Pro - No Data Update' app all should be updated to the most recent version of the data (including the update date listed at the bottom of the app screen) & (at least for me) every time I've checked the data has been the most current version.
