Subject: Mike Johnson
Years ago, in fact, decades ago, in a small town in Oklahoma, over late morning coffee at the “Village Inn” on Main Street, a crusty old farmer wearing an insulated vest and John Deere hat told me:
“Watch out for them oily smooth-talkin’ businessmen who smile at you and the first words out of their mouths is ‘I’m a Christian businessman.’
Don’t shake their hands, but if you do, you’d better be sure to check that you still have your rings and wristwatch when you finish shaking his hand.”
I’ve always remembered that.
And I think of it every time I see a photograph of Mike Johnson
