I chuckled when I read that.

Because it sparked a very real memory from over 60 years ago.

My friend Bobby Montgomery and I played Cowboys and Indians in the backyard between our two houses… back when neither the name of the game nor the toy guns employed gave anyone a second thought.

Anyway……. There were many occassions when I’d sneak up with my Matel imitation of a lever action 30/30, point it directly at his head from a distance of one inch, pull the trigger and yell “Bang! You’re dead!”

And Bobby would scream “No you didn’t! You missed me!”

I don’t know why I suddenly remembered Bobby when I read your response. Just coincidence, I guess.
