Favourites will stay automated, but I'll allow you to customise what is shown and not shown in Personal Settings later on.

Many users in TMF did manual searches for boards *every* entry to the board they wanted rather than using favourites. This takes care of that by making sure what they have used can be returned to easily. This is especially valuable with companies which are not shown immediately in front of you.

I'll make sure it all works in a very intuitive and user-friendly way.
