There is a difference between destroying Trumps "accomplishments", and destroying Trump. When Trump took office it became his personal mission to undo everything Obama did so this really isn't anything new. Given the chasm between "left", and "right" these days this is not surprising, nor really interesting.

Getting back to what Trump actually admitted:
"in no circumstances, you're promising America tonight, you would never abuse power as retribution against anybody."
Trump is admitting he would abuse his power as president. He would exact retribution (which is different than undoing a policy)...
