Seen the same with an author and podcaster I used to enjoy - Robert M Price, AKA "The Bible Geek". Price is an atheist, very incisive critic of the Bible, religion, and especially Christian apologists. And he completely went down the MAGA rabbit hole - stolen election, COVID vaccine conspiracy, the works.
