And the plant is being built in the US.
To a lot of people, that would not make a difference, because the company is still foreign.
I had coworkers that would tell you, with a straight face, that US built, foreign brand, cars, were just as bad as imports, because "all the money goes to Tokyo". One of those luminaries was the company's CFO. He insisted that his Swedish built Saab was American, because "all the money goes to GM". The moment GM sold Saab, he couldn't wait for the lease to run out, because the car was now foreign. Another coworker insisted her Mexican built Ford Fusion was American because "all the money goes to Ford". But, they would tell you, with a straight face, than an Ohio built Honda, 70% North American content, was foreign, because "all the money goes to Tokyo".
That company did a lot of car hauling for Chrysler. I never challenged what passed for "logic" in their minds, by suggesting they shun Chrysler, after it was bought by Fiat, because "all the money is going to Turin".
