Can't say specifically, but some (many?) were in the placebo group. You also missed a key point. The entire group was comprised of people who got little or or help from existing drugs. So a 40% success rate is fantastic with that group. When the placebo group gets the real drug, it will likely push the success rate near to or over 60%.
