Apparently you will be surprised to find that those in government offices have a budget, and must live within that amount unless more is appropriated by the legislature. - GH

However, they don't have their personal wealth on the line like the small businessman and they are NOT burdened with myriad regulations that a real business must navigate.

Nor do they have to worry about customer satisfaction, and the need to make sales to keep the ship afloat.

Sorry, but I would rather be governed by that hard working plumber with common sense than by a highly educated Adam Schiff.
