I seem to recall that Republicans have a history of doing that. Going back several election cycles. I think Bush Jr did it. Not sure about McCain. I think Trump did in 2016 and 2020.

Tried to search, but mostly I just got the latest dust-up with ABBA. I did find a Rolling Stone article...apparently even Reagan did it (with Springsteen).

Evidently, it's also happened with Dems. But a lot less frequently. The convict (and his campaign) apparently doesn't care.

As I recall, Congress passed some pretty strict laws at the behest of some music association. The artists should sue his ass into the ground.
