(Not for the Trump Deranged. Or the 24/7 FOX "my ideals! My convictions!" crowd either.

Path to avoid for each man.

President Biden
****************

No matter who it is.

George W Bush. Barack Obama. Donald Trump.

Sitting Presidents have a rusty first debate. Is it being tired from the job? OR....is it that for 4 years, they are used to walking into the office, everyone hushing up, nobody arguing with them or interrupting them. I say it's the latter. W in his first one with Kerry. Obama, first one with Mitt. Both came back in subsequent debates but Biden's people need to coach him against this pitfall.

DON'T JUST LISTEN TO YOUR CLUB 401K ELITIST WHITE ADVISORS. To them - just like the 401K greedy White Liberals here....the world is a noun, a verb, and "The Dow!". Craft some word tracks to brag about the numbers.....but ALSO acknowledge that milk and gas and houses are a bitch and now that the other stuff is turned around, we can tackle this stuff. If you come across as out of touch - you'll find a few young people and black people quietly go Trump.

President Trump
****************

This isn't solely the Twitter stuff that's fun. He'll be pressed by the moderator and the President.

While sound bites and slogans have carried the day before and they can again, if he lets the other 2 debaters piss him off, it's not gonna come across well.

Fight is good. Show teeth and anger over housing costs, interest rates or the price of gas and milk. But anger over being needled won't come across well.

Another thought. Biden's people are a bit worried because there's NO reason to give the challenger a podium next to you if you think you can win this.

I still think Biden's money can carry the day.

But if Trump takes an Israeli Mule NeoCon as VP who can bring in the money - who knows.

It's tough calling it in a tribal, caste divided violent country. But man - it's hilarious to say I told you so, and that this is what you people have come to. Haha

Sitting Presidents have a rusty first debate. Is it being tired from the job?

More likely just from being out of practice.

Debating is a skill, and the format of political debates is pretty weird. It's not something that you do in your day-to-day job of being President (or really. any day-to-day job).

In a race featuring an incumbent, the incumbent won't have had any debates since their last campaign four years prior. Meanwhile, the challenger will have participated in several debates in the fight to get the nomination. They're more in practice.

So in 2004, John Kerry had participated in sixteen debates over the course of several months before securing the nomination. Mitt Romney had been in nineteen. Joe Biden was in eleven in his nomination race.

That's a lot of live-fire practice - just makes you a little better in that first Presidential debate. You're not rusty, and you've done your debate prep on domestic and foreign policy over and over again,

Trump will be unusual in this regard. He secured the nomination without participating in any of the primary debates.
