Disclosure: I have been in favor of assault-style weapons being banned. Not thrilled about giving up a right - but I feel Americans and your culture - you people can't be trusted with weapons anymore. Family breakdown, music and video games, departure from traditions that leads to other stresses- --no, Americans can't be trusted with assault weapons for any reason so -- yeah - I"m all for the assault weapons ban, I salute Clinton for getting it done and I wish W hadn't have repealed it. You're not beating the NRA today. *And* certain minority constituencies, and also single women (marriage and traditional family sucks so this is a growing demographic right?)..... want the right to guns and in a tribalistic dysfunctional 50.1% democracy, Senators are hard pressed to risk primary challenges and go against the gun lobby so STUFF your "comprehensive reform" until the school-shoot generation takes power in a decade or tow. BUT FOR NOW.......

Every time I go to an airport, I go thru a metal detector. And it's great - I'm glad the Irish can't bring weapons on the plane and but for certain historical days - THIS TACTIC WORKS. SO MY QUESTION.....

Why can't we have metal detectors and limited entrances to all our schools?

If it works for the nation's air travel---- why the hell wouldn't it catch a 14 year old idiot hopped up on modern culture?

Metal detectors in schools. Heck due pat-downs. Divert money from *gasp* sports -- the kids will be a little fatter when they grow up and work for hate. asian and arabic bosses - no biggie.
