A federal appeals court on Friday struck down President Donald Trump’s use of emergency powers granted by Congress to impose tariffs, opening the door for the administration to potentially have to repay billions worth of duties.

Earlier today Bessent warned of U.S. "embarrassment" if the tariffs were ruled illegal.

My, my, someone's face is gonna' be red.

Maybe the Supreme Court will decide that their very special boy can do whatever he wants with tariffs.

Or maybe Dear Leader will just ignore the courts. Laws don't seem to mean much anymore for Trump.

given : tariff stay, scotus path, congress unwilling to do their mandated job.
optional : several other paths for trump to threaten\declare tariffs unless he gets his cut or gets bored.

its clear that any economic impacts before midterms will be blamed elsewhere ; a strategy that has thus succeeded in every gop failure other than covid response.

Well, we would not want to be embarrassed, that's for sure. Certainly, one of the best, if not bestest, reasons to keep the tariffs.
