They didn't support Trump lies about vandalism to the reflecting pool.

CBS News correspondent Ed O’Keefe reported after inspecting the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool that there was “no sign” of the 350-foot gash President Trump has alleged. Other reporters on site also failed to find damage, despite heightened security and Trump’s assertion that evidence would be presented in court.

Oh it gets better.

The Times today has a story about the “microbubblers” which were used to keep the algae at bay which were operating in three locations at the edge of the reflecting pool. But because Trump & Co had the big wrestling celebration going on and thought they looked ugly, they were removed. 24 hours later the pool was green, green, green.

The Times has time laps photos showing the progress: it’s blue, blue, then suddenly GREEN, right on cue.

I wish I could reproduce it here. Maybe it will come up for you even without a subscription:
