The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

Dope: Remember how on PA it was funny for the kind every time their goons beat up old people trying to leave Trump rallies in 2026? Or how it was 'this is how democracy works' when Ted Cruz and Sarah Huckabee were routines harassed in restaurants? Or how there was silence when Steve Scalise was nearly murdered by a left wing Bernie supporter? Or how they'd shrug and say, 'he had it coming' when Rand Paul's neighbor assaulted him?

Well, thank you for the lesson in false equivalence.

Or are you actually suggesting that a republican sitting member of Congress calling for the violent takeover of the seat of U.S. democracy by force -- and the former republican president nodding in agreement -- is the same as diners heckling politicians in public restaurants?

Evidently you missed the Pelosi and Schumer floor speeches following the Virginia mass shooting or the many other wishes extended to representative Scalise for a speedy recovery by other democrats (but, hey, like Paul Simon sang: "A man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest.")

And are you seriously suggesting that a dispute over lawn care is the same as a call for the end of the democratic rule of law in favor of open revolt?
