American Bible Society Will Close Its $60 Million Museum
The Bible museum on Independence Mall in Philadelphia was open less than three years and had attracted fewer visitors than projected.

“Fewer visitors than projected”. I’ll say. Supposed to attract 250,000 patrons a year. In its final year (year #3) ticket sales were 5,400. A slight shortfall.

ABS’s new CEO Jennifer Holloran, arriving last month to an organization with
a variety of financial and missional troubles, said in an email to staff on
Wednesday that she and the board had agreed at their February meeting that
“now is the time to proceed with this difficult but necessary action.”
She quoted Ecclesiastes 3, writing that “everything that happens in this
world happens at the time of God’s choosing.”

All this trouble in the world and God chose to go another direction. Well, isn’t that just like him!

Well, isn’t that just like him!

His will be done.

'The Ark' now claims 1.5 million visitors a year to its 800 acre plot. Kids are free.

Meanwhile, over at Disneyland, Tinkerbelle attracts that many fully paid visitors every month to its 500 acre park at 3X the price of The Ark Museum.

Never underestimate the power of the Mouse!

If dinosaurs perished after their ride on the Ark, how did Dumbo survive?

Thank you Goofyhoofy for writing the non-political post. The recs were high and I believe if all authors here can have the discipline to separate the political posts out to the US Policy board, including avoiding to even add political brief remarks, this this board will attract an additional audience not previously present.

Some posters had left early and will be likely to return if they see more diversity of subject here, and perhaps even some of the regulars at the large Berkshire Hathaway board will read and write posts here occasionally, adding more diversity of authorship again.

The difficulty with the political posts is not the individual posts, but rather the phenomenon that they cause reactions and so end up flooding all other subjects unwittingly, and the readership falls to only those wanting to read the political posts - which they can now do on the US Policy board instead.

In summary keeping US Policy and Atheist Shrewds fairly mutually exclusive will increase the readership and diversity of subjects *in aggrehate*.

This will take a bit of discipline from everyone here, but it will leave two boards with higher *aggregate value* than the single board before.
