That was the point, which you deliberately chose not to see: the opioid epidemic absolutely exploded during the Trump presidency.

Yet republicans never cared about those deaths then and never criticized former president Trump for the spike in opioid overdose deaths under his watch. Those deaths only became an issue when republicans could place them at the feet of president Biden.

And here you are giving me an op-ed by republican senator Rob Portman from June 11, 2021?

Plus a CBS Austin article from January, 2023? I guess you agree with what was written in this article, right? Like this?

"The extreme right wing and those running for 'coward-in-chief' do not care about solving our immigration challenges," Rep. Casar said. "Those bodies to them were not a human tragedy, they were an opportunity to go on Fox News and talk about President Biden."
