An appeals court said he has to come up with the full bond amount but lifted his ban on obtaining loans from NY banks. The court also declined his request to delay posting bond.

Former President Donald Trump must come up with the full bond amount to cover the $454 million verdict in the civil fraud trial, an appeals court judge ruled Wednesday.

The judge, however, lifted a ban on Trump’s ability to obtain loans from a New York bank, which could allow him to obtain the necessary funds.

The court also denied Trump’s request to delay his obligation to post $454 million until his appeal of the civil fraud verdict is over.

Of course, removing the ban on obtaining loans from banks operating in NY does not mean those banks will choose to loan him money. He's still got his own reputational (financial / moral) track record to overcome.

The next few days will be interesting. Any bank willing to lend him money is going to have some interesting requirements to back the loan. Whatever he has to do to shuffle assets around could expose other valuation problems in his portfolio that could trigger other debt covenants and bring down more of the empire.
