The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

Dope1: And for those who want to dispute what I said, here's today's liberalism in a nutshell:

*Jail Trump
*Ban the electoral college
*Pack the supreme court
*No voter ID
*censor free speech.

Republicans are the "Lock Her Up" party. Trump has already been found liable by a jury for sexual assault. And guilty for fraud. We're not suggesting prison for either of those crimes. Tonight Trump posted a link to a published photograph of Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan's daughter, attacking her again so, who knows... maybe he ends up behind bars.

Clearly, while some folks may argue that the electoral college is outmoded, no one is suggesting "banning" the electoral college; at least no one of any consequence.

President Biden has had three years to "pack the supreme court" and it never happened. He's also said he doesn't believe in doing so.

Democrats issues with voter IDs are: they cost money; they're inconvenient to get for older voters who no longer drive; voting is a constitutional right; some voters don't have or cannot afford the kind of documentation needed for a voter ID; and that there would be no universal federal guidelines because each state will want to control how voters qualify for and get an ID.

But in general, most democrats wouldn't have a problem with voter ID. Where I live, we all just have our driver's license scanned without complaint.

And yeah, free speech is such a problem in a world overrun with X, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. And Fox "News," Newsmax, and idiotic radio programming with Bannon and a whole range of crazies. I mean, however can republicans get their message out?

Maybe sano is right and I was wrong.
