It's a cold day here, 1°F. We're taking advantage of the natural freezer outside to defrost our chest freezer and put all its contents on the porch. I'll go for a walk later if we break into double digits. If not it's the bike on the wind trainer and weights. The stove is keeping us warm but the humidifier on top of it is not adding much to the dry air in the house.
Have a good MLKjr Day.

I'm gonna bundle up a little more than usual( Ok, a lot more, lol ) and go xc skiing for a couple of hours.
I'll be much more appreciative of the nice warm house when I get back, lol. Will have some
nice warm soup and drink(s) waiting for me, not going to ruin the mood by watching 1 second
of the onset of the Dumpster/Trumpster fire.

Sounds like a nice day!
I"ve been doing "ok" with walking daily but in the end I'm unhealthy.
So slightly different day than you today.
I am now in the car at McDonald's, enjoying a lovely breakfast, coffee, and a small coke and cookies - all to perfection.
Watching the inauguration stuff on YouTube. I'm late to do it and frankly I prefer just watching it later on my own time but I did see the receiving of Trump by Biden and also the Vance-Kamala meeting too.
Pro-Tip: Dan Quayle. I swear he has a slight relationship or something with Obama. At EVERY one of these events yes Obama is affable and nice to everyone but he and Quayle have a little special interaction. I've noticed it a few times. Back in the 2008 days - trust me - I was sort of "in the know" - only sort of - with the auto bailouts. At that time someone who would know - - told me that Quayle was instrumental vis a vis Cerebus and Chrysler.
Since then I've always noticed that extra smile or handshake with Quayle and Obama.
Yeah. I'm a geek.

Chilly here in So Cal this morning. The winds are expected to pick up again today, so we’re back on fire watch.
I’m celebrating MLK day the way I often do, by getting ready for my upcoming tax season.

Today I'll be honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr...
"Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity."
"A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual doom."
"Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?"
"Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness."
"The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Education must enable one to sift and weigh evidence,
to discern the true from the false, and the facts from the fiction."
"We need leaders not in love with money but in love with justice. Not in love with publicity, but in love with humanity."
"I know, somehow, that only when it is dark enough can you see the stars."
"I have decided to stick to love. Hate is too great a burden to bear."

This isn't a Quote from Dr. King, but it seems appropriate for the day.
Choose your leaders
with wisdom and forethought.
To be led by a coward
is to be controlled
by all that the coward fears.
To be led by a fool
is to be led
by the opportunists
who control the fool.
To be led by a thief
is to offer up
your most precious treasures
to be stolen.
To be led by a liar
is to ask
to be told lies.
To be led by a tyrant
is to sell yourself
and those you love
into slavery.

Another quote:
“If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”
Today, we are reduced to a crawl, but we must keep crawling. Giving up is not an option.

Trump ticks all the boxes. He's a quintuple threat!
We will be led by a coward.
We will be led by a fool.
We will be led by a thief.
We will be led by a liar.
We will be led by a tyrant.
