Heard a pundit yesterday say:
"He is losing on the economy, and he is losing on immigration,
therefore he is redirecting all attention to crime."
-- will it work?

Let's hope it's not too little, too late. I'm rather worried about that.

4% not sure
Well, I got part way through Idiocracy so Not Sure has a different meaning to it now. Went back to finish and Youtube stopped showing it for free. The only free stream I found was in Spanish, but I'll wait, somewhere it's free streaming.

The fact that only 56% disapprove of Trump is a sure sign our democracy is in serious trouble.

the problem is that ~99% gop will poll against pedophilia, corruption, violence, etc...
but will take no action when by their own.
opinion polls as useless as fact-based polls, see "consumer affordability".

That was my thought, also. "You mean 44% approve?" Flying from memory here, the Felon has roughly 30% that think he can walk on water. He'll never lose that. So what's with the squishy 14% additional support?
Yeah, serious trouble. And if we become global bullies, the world has serious trouble.

Look at the chart in the link and read the post. It says 39% approve, 4% aren't sure. And the 30% that you speak of that approved, is that 30% of Republicans or 30% of the population, or 30% of the voters? The link will help dispel your questions.

It mostly didn't dispel my questions. But you bring up a good point about the 30% number. I was flying from memory, and honestly don't recall if it was 30% of the population or just Reps. I was thinking the whole population. Looking it up, I was correct. It's 30% of the population. As of this month, among only Reps, it's holding around 90%. Very solid.
Though, your link was interesting. It speaks to how incompetently he is handling things. But will that translate into votes? Probably not. Most of the Rep base wouldn't vote for a Dem if you held a gun to their children's heads. No matter how badly the Felon screws everything up.
The key has long been, and still is, the uncommitted voters. You'll never get part of that 90% Reps (though, that implies, that 10% aren't really committed). You have to capture those uncommitted segments. I'm pretty sure the incompetence is evident to them, so the Dems need to put up a non-idiot to win. Someone who realizes healthcare and the economy matter a lot more to those people than -for example- pronouns.

Yep, that 15% that can be swayed, but it's also important to get the vote out. Get out, beat your feet, knock on doors, get that application for a mail in ballot in their hands. Learn how to field various questions and get them feeling they should vote. Our tactics deserve criticism, but getting the vote out is a must.
