Legal analyst Lisa Rubin did a little research into the fake electors conspiracy after the Roger Stone video was released last night and discovered that it wasn't only Roger Stone who was reaching out to others to implement the scheme on November 5.
On that same day, Cleta Mitchell asked John Eastman to consider whether state legislatures had the ultimate authority to appoint electors and suggested that he draft a memo to that effect, "outlining the constitutional role of state legislators in designating electors," instructing state legislatures to "reclaim that constitutional duty, and designate electors".
White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows joined the conspiracy on the same day, texting a Georgia State Senator, Marty Harbin, and asking that he too look into the strategy, and call political consultant Dick Morris (who also spoke to Mitchell) about it.
Vince Haley, a White House speechwriter, explored the plan for state legislatures to take control over electors with Dan Huff, who worked in the Office of Presidential Personnel, in at least two, detailed emails. Again, on that magic date, on November 5.
On November 4, former TX Governor and Energy Secretary Rick Perry floated the idea in a text to Meadows, even suggesting it could lead to "interesting horse trading."
So either this was a coordinated criminal conspiracy or one heck of a coincidence.
Huh.
