Yeah, stop whining and get over it.
Naziism is not a biggie. People who support a President, people who support a President who might have indeed subverted election laws......are the SAME as a movement that took Jewish Human Beings, men women and kids, and tossed them into ovens.
So just get over that crap ok? It happened. Take some Pepsi, rub dirt on it, and walk it off.'
HEYYT!!! HEY!!!! MY XXXXX WAS KILLED IN THE HOLOCAUST HOW DARE YOU!
No, how dare you - cheapening it - by labeling as "Nazi" not just Trump and some who support him, but you did it in the W Bush years too.
So no more bellyaching about the Holocaust.
Maybe turn your focus to why thru human history, ONE group keeps getting targeted.
How about that train of thought be promoted subtly...(along with looting and and sending Migrants to dark yoga school parking lots)

get over it.
Admit that Trump attempted to remain in power by illegal means (not caring too much if they were legal), and deliberately attempted to thwart the will of the people.

*****
It was as bad as taking human beings and putting them alive - in ovens, for the crime of being Jewish.
It was exactly the same thing.
*giggle* I'm glad certain attitudes are pervasive in the United Nations and other Leftist Circles.

Uh...no.
The OP was referring to how the National Socialist Worker's Party arose, and seized control. You're talking about the aftermath. Two different, if related, things.
For the second to happen (industrial genocide), you have to have the former (overthrow of democracy by an authoritarian ideologue supported by a cult of personality). So you were getting ahead of yourself.
Not that democracy doesn't have its blemishes (to put it mildly). The slaughter of indigenous peoples (native Americans), the rounding-up of specific ethnic peoples (and confiscating their property, putting them in camps surrounded by guard towers - like Manzanar), the systemic deprivation of rights solely based on ethnicity (black people since forever). And that's just in this country. Other democracies may have had other issues during their history, and maybe even today (Israel pops to mind, and their treatment of the Palestinians).

His point is that the dumbass Nazi comparisons are stupid and the people who make them need to read history.

An overgeneralization. Some comparisons are not valid. Some are. The checklist (posted in another thread) was pretty accurate, and we can see which of those were fulfilled by the Trump movement, and which weren't. It is untrue to say events and circumstances are the same, but -to borrow from a common saying- there is a lot of rhyming going on.
It is not wrong to be vigilant regarding such matters. "He who forgets history is destined to repeat it."
So far, rule of law is prevailing. Proud Boys are in prison. Indictments of higher-ups have been issued. At least some convictions will follow. The movement isn't dead, but people will be more careful before doing something stupid. Just ask FOX, who very quickly distanced themselves from "rigged voting machines".

No, unless Trump wrote some version of Mein Kampf.
The other thread was asinine.
