Well, from talking to my family members over there, they pretty much believe that's the case with either path.
So, the only option is to wipe out all the Palestinians? I very much doubt they would accept "reservations" as the US model did. If I were an Israeli, I would not want to live under constant threat of attack. So I would either want to leave, or feel guilty about supporting the extermination of the people (for the record, I would just leave...I can live anywhere that has some basic comforts and freedoms).
Realistically, it isn't reasonable to expect the Israeli people to continue living under that constant threat. It is reasonable for them to want it to stop, even if -as an American- I don't want to facilitate their genocide of the Palestinians. I think I could live as a Palestinian someplace else (e.g. Israel) as long as I was afforded the same rights and opportunities as everyone else. I would have a problem if one group of citizens ("settlers") were allowed to evict me, persecute me, kill me. Which is what I think was a big driver of Palestinian resentment prior to the attack a couple years ago. IMO, the government you live under is the key bit. If I'm free and unmolested, that's all I need. Canada, US, UK, Israel, France...doesn't matter. I have complaints about all of them, but I can deal with it. If I'm not free, or subject to persecution, then I would have a problem.
