Many of our presumably conscious and self-aware fellow humans clearly demonstrate plenty of cruelty, callousness and numerous other pathologies every day of the week. The Trump 2.0 administration is full of them!If you want to read something chilling, Thom Hartmann has an article about Ayn Rand today- hero to many of today’s Republicans, including Donald Trump, who earlier in his career, claimed “Atlas Shrugged” as his favorite book.
Rand’s protagonist in “Atlas Shrugged”, as well as several other heroes in her books, was modeled after a psychopathic child kidnapper and murderer. She considered him the “ideal man”, unconstrained by society’s laws.
It’s been a few “days” since we argued about Ayn Rand at the Fool, but Hartmann presents a pretty good summary of how she has infected American politics, and captured the Republican Party with her hailing vice as virtue.
