July results are impressive. Hope Geico is keeping up.

Property and casualty insurer Progressive (NYSE:PGR) announced on Wednesday July earned premiums of $6.99B, up 15% year-over-year.

Net premiums written rose 11% from last year to $7.06B during the month.

Net income per share available to common shareholders stood at $1.85, compared to $1.38 in July 2024.

The insurer sees a combined ratio of 85.3% for the month.

I am in Florida and recently switched my 3 cars and umbrella insurance from GEICO to Progressive. An amazing 60% less for same coverage. Progressive App and telematics are far superior to GEICO.
I’ll see how long my rates stay so low but GEICO rates in Florida became ridiculous. Just one anecdote…
