trump cannot have any aspersion on his top-10 hustles, which is selling political offices.
(but i think the conviction means precedent is already set)
the natural extension of this :
taking bribes to pardon those who gave a bribe to get a political office.

It happened so quickly the you can still hear the echoes of them shouting about “law and order”, and accusing Democrats of supporting criminals.
But it’s hard to yell “law and order” while stuffing wads of embezzled/stolen/ill-gotten cash into a paper sack, at the same time you’re accusing Democrats of being low-life sleaze balls.
Perhaps that’s why they like him. He can chew gum, crime, and throw shit all at the same time.
Great qualities for a president of the United States.
Next up: Republicans as the party of Family Values.
Next week: Republicans as the Party of Fiscal Sanity.
Followed by:
“Republicans teach listeners how to say King’s “content of their character rather than the color of their skin” with a straight face.”
It must be admitted, however, that Donald Trump seems to be able to say all of these things with a straight face.

In addition to budgeting, I also won't be lectured to by a Republican about "law and order" or "rule of law". They clearly don't understand either.

Historically speaking, “rule of law” derived from the desire not to be “ruled by kings”. We are governed by laws, not by men. That’s the truth that states what we believe
But now folks want a king who will restore the rule of law by breaking all sorts of laws in order to rid the country of those who he says are destroying it.
It’s “law and order”, they say.
In fact, in so many ways, it’s the opposite.

Trump Pardons Reality Stars Todd and Julie Chrisley Following Tax Evasion and Bank Fraud Convictions. (While illegally deporting children with cancer.)
Trump identifies with cheats and crooks. He understands them and values them because he is them.

My favorite is the editorial cartoon, Nixon and Trump side by side.
Nixon says “I am not a crook!”
Trump says “I am a crook. So what?”
