True, Putin was branded a criminal by the International Criminal Court, but the U.S. isn't a member.
Perhaps Trump will host "peace talks" by inviting both Putin and Zelenskyy to the White House?

I hope so. Talk before Club 401K gets us into nuclear exchange.
Furthermore, talking to adversaries is a sign of strength.
Barack Obama said that and he - was right.
You NeoCons might not think so and you're entitled to an opinion

Why bother with the trip? As I remember, it was all supposed to be solved in one day with a phone call.

Yep, Trump said he would have it solved in 24 hours.
Promises made...uhhh....

And if it takes two days or six months, the resulting truce <or whatever form it takes> will be a hollow accomplishment since the true message is that Trump "LIED" about doing it on day one.
Yeah keep up with the literal-ism, that is the best way to understand the present day ill informed American voter.

truce <or whatever form it takes>
That's the rub, Mike. Trump can just threaten all aid of whatever kind will cease. Putin will be able to manipulate Don to get his terms.

Fair enough. We will just have wait and see what develops. Things got more sticky when the Norks showed up on the battlefield.

I'd like to see them perform. I doubt if they're good, but I'd like em rated. They're inexperienced.

My guess is that, coming from such a straitjacketed society, that having battlefield initiative would not be something they are trained for.

Weak infantry for sure but there still are missiles to consider. Little Rocket man could do the dirty work keeping Putin's hands clean(er). I checked and the range required is around 5,000 miles which I think is well within Kims tested capability. Would the US risk any sort of direct action on the Norks what with them sharing a border with the Chicoms? I doubt Trump would go for that.

My guess is that, coming from such a straitjacketed society,But they are enjoying their unrestricted access to the internet.
https://www.newsweek.com/north-korean-troops-russi...North Korean soldiers who have deployed to Russia have never had unfettered access to the internet before. As a result, they are gorging on pornography. And they're becoming cannon fodder.
https://en.defence-ua.com/news/ukrainian_warriors_...He [a NK soldier who survived an attack] claims they were initially told they would be guarding infrastructure, but instead, they were betrayed and sent on assault missions in the Kursk region.
"The russians provided us with nothing," he continued. "They sent us into an assault without prior reconnaissance, without ammunition, without adequate weapons."I wonder how many will surrender and then ask to defect to South Korea. Family left behind may be the only thing keeping many from doing that.

There's nothing like good, seasoned, well trained troops. What was surprising was how bad Wagner's troops were. Wagner's troops advanced on an American position and we could outshoot them with accurate hits on their vehicles from farther away. So they never hit us. And Wagner troops were supposed to be better than normal Russian troops. They didn't understand the weapons they were going up against.

Mercenary troops. Rockets. We'd contemplate whether direct action would have the desired effect, and the international perception.

Not sure what you mean by Norks.
Is it this??
Norks is a derogatory word for a woman's breasts, often used in a demeaning and objectifying manner.
An example. Hello, honey, that sweater—one deep breath and your norks will be in my soup.
‘C. Rohan’, Delinquents 157Citation details for ‘C. Rohan’, Delinquents
Or perhaps this??
Slang for North Koreans. Somewhat derogatory.
But I am sure you can do much better with racist terms for Asians. After all, there are so many derogatory terms you could have picked! And you may as well continue with terms for any other group of people that don't fit your idea of a superior race!

I use those terms, purposely intended to be derogatory, because I recognize these regimes as dangerous adversaries and generally not good for a peaceful world. It is the leadership I am referring to leadership, because most of their captive citizens would choose something different if they had a choice. Same with Iran. Thanks for asking.

Ya, Pthe, everything I'm reading says they are a mild step above guard material. And the Russians were handing out old machine guns. But to send someone to attack without proper weapons and ammunition is not good. And there were some desertions. Morale can't be good. One thing in our favor.

With such a cheesy military, I am surprised the long suffering citizens haven't overthrown their oppressors by now.
Oh wait, never mind, civilians aren't allowed to possess firearms in North Korea.

MAGATs should go over there and teach them all a lesson. We'll let you have all the weapons and ammo you can carry. :)
The Japanese have done remarkably well, with a teeny amount of murder, you can own a shotgun in the boonies, but there are stringent requirements for anything else. Difficult to own a rifle, much less a handgiun. So we have the examples of countries with just as much freedom as us that don't have a gun fetish. I am a FUD. Guns for self defense and hunting - military use is highly questionable. And Heller made the prefatory clause not meaningful, so the mention of militia in the 2nd goes away, and Constitutionally, it's left up to the Fed and States. Not your local gun club.

Why would they do that?
Blue States have better health care so they would probably stay in North Korea.
