Manlobbi, thanks again for all your effort into creating these boards! It must have been quite a lift!
I'm trying to figure out how to get my Favourite boards started up. Not sure how the 'Love Factor' is calculated, but I've been tooling around and reading and recommending lots of posts - but no favourites kick in. Am I doing something wrong?

>Not sure how the 'Love Factor'... Am I doing something wrong?
I have fixed this just now.
(1) It needs to be predictable as to how to make a board a Favourite.
As a result I have I made it greatly more sensitive and you
only need a love of 10 for it to reach favourites. A single recommendation
will reach that, or viewing 10 posts.
(2) Now when you visit Favourites it explains how it works, whether or not
you already have a board listed there. Earlier the detailed explanation only
occurred if you already happen to have a Favourite. It reads like this:
Favourites
Your Love Factor is calculated with one point for every 10 post views by you, and one point for every 1 recommendation by you. The boards listed above have all reached a Love Factor of 1. Recommending a single post is enough for the board to reach your Favourites.
Solved.

Thank you, Manlobbi. I am mostly a lurker, as I am not very knowledgeable in investing.
Two suggestions on Favorites
(1) It would have been helpful to have control of when to add/ remove boards than let the system decide (instead of recommend) it. For instance, I don't have the ability to remove a board, if I don't care about a topic anymore. Or add a board, instead of waiting for the algorithm to decide it for me.
(2) It would have been nice to see 'new post count since last visit' on Favorites page. This way, I can have a quick glance on the page and only go to the boards that have new posts.

Favourites will stay automated, but I'll allow you to customise what is shown and not shown in Personal Settings later on.

I want to keep it minimal, but noted.

For now, find a post you like on any board you want as a Favorite, give it a rec, it will then be a Favorite Board.
Manlobbi explained this on the bottom of the Favourites Page.

Don't worry, you'll have control. :)

I earlier wrote in this thread:

Many users in TMF did manual searches for boards *every* entry to the board they wanted rather than using favourites. This takes care of that by making sure what they have used can be returned to easily. This is especially valuable with companies which are not shown immediately in front of you.
I'll make sure it all works in a very intuitive and user-friendly way.

In the end I added the simple 'customise' link in the favourites page itself. It is self explanatory upon clicking it.
