kyivpost.com: US Envoys Pressure Kyiv on Refinery StrikesUS envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have warned Ukrainian negotiators in Miami that Washington could restrict intelligence sharing if Kyiv continues striking Russian oil refineries. A US official confirmed the envoys urged Kyiv not to hurt US consumers, adding that Donald Trump struck a Russian diesel deal with Vladimir Putin after President Volodymyr Zelensky rejected a unilateral strike pause without a mutual energy ceasefire.

Of course, the US could simply end the blockade of the Straits of Hormuz. I find it bizarre that Trump says he won't attack Iran until just after the elections. Assuming the statement has any truth to it (at least a couple of times in the past, during negotiations with Iran, he broke his promise of not attacking them), why would his announced timing have any effect on the election?
I wonder what would happen if Ukraine sank a "ghost" tanker carry diesel, not to the US, but slated to reduce the global price of the commodity.
