No doubt that what's most asylum seekers are thinking when they arrive: "I'm a nice guy but I bet everyone else crossing is a 'psychopath' and, oh, yeah, there's 'no security check,' 'no background check.'"

democrats claimed for 3 years that "the border is secure". Before that they pushed back on reinforcing the border and routinely oppose any measure that slows down the flood at the border.
Only now that they're poised to pay a political price are some of them starting to mention border security at all.
