The thinking is that Biden will resign the office and let Kamala run as an incumbent.

Presumably, Speaker Johnson will want to slow walk the confirmation of a new VP to serve out the remainder of her term to Janauary 2025, but that doesn't have any bearing on picking a VP for the November ballot. They'll want to double up on the Secret Service detail as long as Speaker Johnson is next in line for the throne.

We live in interesting times.
