More time has passed. Let's see what Presidential historians think of Trump lately...
Most recent poll: Dead last...WORST. And this was in 2024 before he became a fascist wannabe. Earlier polls had him very near the bottom. His ranking among historians can ONLY go down.
If we have anything like factual history in the future he will surely be ranked as the worst EVER.
But what do these pointy-headed elites know anyway? MAGA says: I've done my own research and Trump was sent by God to save America. To save America from democracy, I guess.

To my knowledge, no deity (and certainly not the Abrahamic one) has democracy as an end goal. It's about kings, and "the king of kings" in some cases.
People don't get to choose, they are supposed to prostrate themselves (which, I believe, is the English translation of "Islam").

And Biden's 4 years, being sandwiched between the first awful Trump term and the second even more terrible Trump term, will be seen as a shining diamond of good presidenting. Biden's rating is sure to go up from here.

I think so.
But recently a guy who did some work for me said "Nobody is buying anything" and I asked "Why do you say that?" and he replied "Because we just suffered through the worst presidency this country has ever had and he sent prices through the roof". Gee I wonder who he voted for and what 'news' he listens to.
This kind of ignorance is only possible if you live in the right wing bubble. Witness Dope and LM.

To be fair, democracy was still centuries in the future when most of the Jewish scriptures were written.

By the time of the NT, Rome had a democracy for a while, and then lost it.
Which is kinda irrelevant anyway. A deity would know the concept, and have that as an end goal (if he/she/it didn't favor an authoritarian arrangement in the first place). Of course, the Hebrew (Habiru?) peoples of 3000+ years ago wouldn't know any of that, and wouldn't write their deity as possessing such ideas. Which is why slavery is still god-approved (and Jesus-approved) in the bible. It was very common back in the day, and they couldn't conceive of a world without it. So that's how they wrote it.

And the early church experimented with democratic, sometimes even communal forms of self government. Then the church lost it also when they began to ape the governing structure of Imperial Rome.
But through the centuries, the non-Catholic/Orthodox wings of Christendom have had many democratic forms of church polity.
