Yeah, right. Beijing won't give a crap. IMHO, we should start phasing-out China from our economy. So in -let's say- 5 years,
nothing is imported from China to the US, not even through third countries. A complete ban. Obviously, we don't sell them anything, either. Our dollars for cheap plastic crap is being channeled straight into their military. We're helping them to have their "belt and roads" thing, and their new aircraft carrier, and their new destroyers. In return, they facilitate our opioid crisis, and their hackers are trying to get into our infrastructure (I just read about that a few days ago).
China has long been our enemy, and it's foolish not to regard them as such today. Until they overthrow their regime, it will continue to be an enemy to any democracy anywhere on the planet. Starving them of cash would be a good start on our part.
