'A panel of AI-enabled humanoid robots told a United Nations summit on Friday that they could eventually run the world better than humans.

But the social robots said they felt humans should proceed with caution when embracing the rapidly-developing potential of artificial intelligence.

And they admitted that they cannot -- yet -- get a proper grip on human emotions.

Some of the most advanced humanoid robots were at the UN's two-day AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva.

They joined around 3,000 experts in the field to try to harness the power of AI -- and channel it into being used to solve some of the world's most pressing problems, such as climate change, hunger and social care.

They were assembled for what was billed as the world's first press conference with a packed panel of AI-enabled humanoid social robots.'

'The bust of a robot named Ameca which makes engaging facial expressions said: "Robots like me can be used to help improve our lives and make the world a better place. I believe it's only a matter of time before we see thousands of robots just like me out there making a difference."'

Since AI skews left, sooner or later the liberals will around to granting them civil rights, eligibility to vote and to receive entitlement benefits. Perhaps even reparations for all those years the robots were pressed into performing menial tasks without compensation.

You mean like the liberals are allowing millions of illegal aliens to cross the border into America, giving them the same freebies to entice them to vote democrat?

==================

How about this for an idea. The liberals establish that AI is the best and fairest and most impartial way to count ballots after an election. What could go wrong!!!

According to the article....
'And they admitted that they cannot -- yet -- get a proper grip on human emotions.'

So, A1 will not have the guilt emotion cheating on the ballot count and can lie with a straight face.

Skews left??

You do know that they have had issues (since at least 2016) of AI "chatbots" going racist/NAZI, yes? Back in 2016, Microsoft had to shut theirs down because of it. Meta's (Facebook) was anti-semitic as recently as 2022.

But to get back to sci-fi, no good ever comes from AI. Star Trek had a few episodes (e.g. I Mudd, The Ultimate Computer, and a few others) where AI went off the rails. The Forbin Project was a movie about something similar, as well as the Terminator series. The only benign one I can recall was Bicentennial Man. Every other one is dystopian.

We're getting close to a machine that can pass the Turing Test. We better keep really tight reins on it, otherwise it might decide we are just a nuisance. And if it can get into infrastructure and/or military networks, we would have a problem.
