'Kemp declares state of emergency over inflation in Georgia'
Snip
' Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) declared a state of emergency for the Peach State over inflation rates Tuesday.
'From runaway federal spending to policies that hamstring domestic energy production, all Bidenomics has done is take more money out of the pockets of the middle class,' Kemp said in a press release.
'While high prices continue to hit family budgets, hardworking Georgians deserve real relief, and that's why I signed an executive order today to deliver it directly to them at the pump,' Kemp continued. 'Working with partners in the General Assembly, we'll continue to help Georgians weather the economic headwinds caused by this president, his administration, and their allies in Congress.'

*smile*. Your buddy has been saying for a year....... the Establishment might slowly look to Youngkin and or Kemp.
Nice opening move by Kemp - though I think it's a bit early to do it as it's not a vacuum right now.

From your article:
Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen took a different tone regarding the state of the economy in a Monday interview with Bloomberg. The cabinet official said she thinks the country will avoid a recession and is on track for a soft landing from high inflation.

https://www.usnews.com/news/economy/articles/2023-...For months now, inflation has been steadily trending down to a 3% level after hitting 9% last summer.
But that positive story is about to get a jolt this week as the consumer price index is expected to show monthly inflation rose by 0.6% in August, up from 0.2% from a month earlier. That will likely bring the annual rate to 3.6%. The culprit? Rising energy prices.

Rising energy prices.
Somebody's getting rich, then. Because we are a net exporter of energy. We have more than we need. There is no reason our prices should be going up.
Though don't they usually exclude energy from inflation numbers? I never thought that was right, since it's something everyone has to pay for. Never made sense to me.

It's nuanced. We're using less and less coal, for example, so what gets mined is sent overseas to places like China. So while we're exporting energy...it's energy we choose via policy to not use in the US. Hence some of the higher prices for the things we do use.

'Kemp declares state of emergency over inflation in Georgia'
---------------
I fear that the threshold for declaring an emergency is reaching dangerous lows. Couple frequent emergency declarations with "temporary" suspensions of constitutional rights and we have anarchy. Not good.

What else would one expect her to say?

The poster child for this abuse is the Washington State legislature that puts an "emergency" tag on every piece of important leg they push. The reason? If it's tagged as an "emergency" then the public doesn't get a chance to weigh in via statewide referendum.

As I said to myself when I read Kemp's remarks placing all blame on Biden.....what else would you expect him to say!

He's stumping. Someone has to replace Trump as he's getting convicted, and at some point will be on his ear.
