I was playing with a VPN. I selected France. When I loaded ncl.com, it popped up the French version. OK, I get that. I turned off the VPN. It still loaded the French version. I deleted all cookies. Still French.

How do I make it NOT load the French website? I figured deleting all cookies would do it, but it didn't. VPN is off. Grrrr....

Here's how to renew your IP address on Windows computer:

Search for the Command Prompt and right click it to Run as administrator
Enter ipconfig /release
Enter ipconfig /renew

You can also try unplugging your modem and router for 30 minutes and then plug them back in to see if it updates your IP. If that doesn't work, you might need to leave it unplugged overnight and see if that reset's it.

I have no idea if any of this will work. I am not an IT guy, I know just enough to get me in trouble.

Assuming you were trying to look up prices without having an algorithm pumping up costs on your searches, consider just setting your browser to Incognito or private mode next time.

Was a good idea, but didn't work. I'm not an IT guy either. I'll have to use the other browser for a while. I'm assuming it will correct itself eventually. I'll also avoid the VPN. It was supposed to protect me from spyware and such (i.e. the EU has much stricter rules about that than the US, so you can refuse cookies and such). Not worth it if it messes up my browsing.

In your browser settings, make sure the language selected is English. Maybe it got changed? Or is the one web site the only one in French? If that is the case, then it should be a cookie setting stored on your device.

So I checked everything. Browser settings, location settings in Windows, etc. Nada. Even a month later it was insisting on French.

So I resorted to CCleaner. That fixed it. Of course, now I have to repeat the "trusted device" procedure with my various financial websites, but that's fine...
