Lohill, I'm getting a crash every time I get a window open on 4.5 and try to do any action. What should I do, send you a log file, reinstall or go back to 4.4?

Not on a Mac but on windows I’ve had this happen several times.
Each time I reinstalled it in a separate folder and each time it worked for a while
until I had to reinstall again.

FC,
You might try a reinstall as a simple fix first. Check to see that the final unzipped folder contains the following:
GTR1 Helper 4.5.exe
GTR1 Helper Main.livecode
5H4W_22.db
10H4W_22.db
a folder called Externals
I compile my application on a Macintosh which produces two executables - one for the PC and one for the Mac. I am only able to test the PC version on a "virtual PC" which runs Windows 10. If the problem is involved with Windows 11 you had better go back to the old version if it still works.

Based on this from RAM, I will recompile the application taking special care to compile using the most recent version of LiveCode to see if that helps. I'll send new links to this thread.

Larry,
Downloaded version 4.5b, extracted from the zip and ran several screens, then put updated
backtest data into the detail data base.
Everything works! Using windows 11 professional.
On the initial run windows always prevents running with a warning that it was prevented from
running as it may be a dangerous program. But if you tell it to run anyway it runs just fine.
For some reason your program has always started off running after bypassing the initial warning
and continues to run for several months. Then one day it just doesn’t even start, no message.
But after redownloading it in a new folder it comes up running again. I now have 8 GTRHelper
folders. A minor annoyance but it is a very helpful tool and I appreciate the effort you put
into it.
