I agree that conservatives are more likely to be skeptical of scientific claims. However, I will note that there is a large segment of the anti-vax community (not specifically COVID) that are educated middle class liberals. A shocking amount, really.

But, in terms of COVID, the states that suffered the most were generally "redder". Without looking it up again, I think all of the top 10 are "red states" (or maybe all but one), and the bottom 10 states (least suffering) were all "blue states". Which reflects a general suspicion of science in the one demographic, and the concurrent disdain for "experts".
