I think he is saying that Dems (in particular) focus on the wrong things. They obsess over pronouns, while most people don't give a crap about that. They need to be focusing on what people actually care about.

I think he has a similar message for the Reps (not pronouns, of course), but makes it less often.

* I also think he may be referencing conversations from the old TMF.

Ah ha! See that last part there is a sort of Rosetta Stone level of clarification. The key. I don't even remember his name from the old Fool and I was there from 1996-end. At least it tells me why he seems to be talking about something but it's unclear what.

The rest of your breakdown sounds well done. Basically he's saying what almost everyone except the most extreme demographics are saying but with all that "crypticism"
