Interesting..No one here from the left seems to care about the passing of
one of their own.

Feinstein is not my senator. I don't NOT-care, but it's not a major event in my life, either. She probably should have stepped aside in that last election, and allowed new blood a chance. Now the governor is going to undemocratically appoint a replacement, instead of the voters choosing in an election. Plus she apparently was slowing down (mentally and physically).
Pelosi should probably step aside as well.
And McConnell.
I guess I don't get them...if you have plenty of money, and some accomplishments, why not retire and enjoy the rest of your life? Instead, they opt for that pressure-cooker stress-machine that is high-level politics. Now they get to have expensive funerals, and that's about it.

Heard an interesting, if somewhat tongue in cheek, suggestion....
Newsome appoints Kamala to replace Di Fi.
Newsome becomes Biden's 2024 running mate.
The awesome Biden/Newsome ticket prevails in Nov 2024.
Biden steps down soon after Jan 20, 2025.
Newsome steps in as POTUS.
Liberals rejoice as the country under a Newsome Admin starts looking like California everywhere.

Actually, while Kamala wasn't my choice in the primaries, I think it would be interesting if Biden stepped-down after winning, and Harris would then be the first Asian-American AND woman POTUS. A two-fer. She's not stupid, so I wouldn't have a problem with it from that standpoint. I'm not crazy about her history as a prosecutor, but I also suspect she's learned a lot the past several years. She'd probably do OK. She's a better speaker than Biden, and appears to be pretty tough.
