Overriding over 2 centuries of law (separation of church and state? Never heard of it.), the Louisiana (not Los Angeles) Governor signed into law a requirement that schools display a copy of the 10 Commandments in their classrooms.

For the moment, let’s ignore the fact that it’s unconstitutional.

Which version of the 10 Commandments should we display? The Jewish version, the Christian version, or the Protestant version?

I think we should use the Jewish version. It’s clearly the oldest and it was handed by God directly to Moses. It says so in the original Old Testament.

Obviously, the other versions were screwed up when translated (before we had Google).

Yep, I’m going with the Jewish version.

Actually, in one of the chapters where they are enumerated, there are MORE than 10. Without looking it up again, I think there's like 16(?), including some really weird ones like not boiling a lamb in its mother's milk.

With our current Catholic Court, I'm not sure this is a slam-dunk to get reversed/nullified. Ten years ago it would have been.

With all the problems Louisiana has this is the issue the Republicans in charge are spending their time and money on? Elect clowns expect a circus.
Things they could be addressing:
The literacy rate in Louisiana is 84%. This is among the top ten U.S. states with the lowest literacy performance.
The poverty rate in Louisiana is 53% higher than the US average.
Louisiana has the 2nd highest gun death rate in the U.S. Weak laws, high ownership, untreated mental illness.
Life expectancy in Louisiana is 3.9 years lower than life expectancy in the US overall.

I would be very surprised if Alito would vote against this. And, of course, Thomas will do whatever his billionaire handlers ask him to do.

Because for his adoring cult members, whatever he does is ordained by God.
