Seriously - if Joe Biden had stayed in the race and remained the nominee, do you honestly think that the Democratic party would have simply conceded the race to Trump?
Wrong question, IMO. I would vote for a rabid syphilitic badger before I voted for the Felon. But the Reps could have put someone up who, while I probably wouldn't like him, I wouldn't have been concerned about his/her competence. Plus Biden had Harris as a backup.
Compare and contrast to the Felon (no explanation needed), and his VP choice for a backup. A man who doesn't want a separation of church and state, who was comfortable being on the ticket with the Felon (if I were Rep, I would have turned him down), is an isolationist, and has backwards views of modern life (e.g. referring to "childless catladies" and such, as I recall, and I think he's opposed to divorce). If the Reps had someone sensible, I could have voted for him/her over Biden. Like Flake. But he was driven out of the party, even though he was a conservative Rep.
